After sorting out the basic ideas within our group, we then did a detailed flat plan of our own individual magazine, when doing this flat plan, I looked at a variety of rock magazines to get inspiration, then planning my own magazine while making sure I had a unique idea which would appeal to my target audience.

Plans for my Music Magazine

Before doing my flat plan, me and my group decided it was best to brainstorm ideas, including:
how to keep the house style but continue to stay original - we thought it was best to keep three main house colours, which were red, white and black (as suggested by our questionnaire results). These colours will be constantly used by us, but then I came up with an idea that if we reversed the colours in the writing, masthead and background, our house styles will be present but each magazine will be original.
We also looked at how each magazine will reflet the period of time which it is issued - I decided to take on the season of good will and happiness, Christmas, with this, I looked at present rock magazines which have included elements of Christmas, and decided to imitate something similar when constructing my magazine.
Another thing I noticed were logos which represented the magazine, I found that if each issue displayed a logo, the issues will be immediately noticed for which magazine the belonged to.
When planning our magazines, we wanted to make sure that our target audience was happy, and when making a decision, we felt that it was necessary that they should have a say, as a result, when it came to the last three possible names for our magazines, we decided that our target audience should have the final say. In the end, we resulted with the name RIOT which we were all happy with.
Above are the images of my flat plan which includes my group's basic house style ideas.

My Target Audience

Overall, when looking at my audience research, particularly, the social groups, I have decided to choose a target audience of:
emos,
rockers,
goths and
heavy metal lovers. I found that these social tribes had a lot in common, having similar elements of dress sense and similar tastes in music (all based on rock music), therefore, linking them together, I've decided, if I target all of these social groups, I will manage to broaden my target audience as a result of their similarities.

My Questionaire Results

I have put these results in a variety of graphs, enabling me to easily refer to the data and use it when planning and constructing my music magazine.

My Music Magazine Questionaire

When preparing my questionaire, I made sure that I had included questions that I needed the answers to, as I would then use my results to help me prepare the music magazine, I hope in the end, my magazine will be the best it can be because I have used my audience research to my advantage.

My Music Magazine

I now have to construct a music magazine but before i can do this i need to research different types of social groups and their interests in music. I can then choose my target audience which my magazine will be aimed at. I also felt that it was necessary to look at institutions as they are the ones who are in charge of the magazine itself.
